Will you help keep Newtown Park safe?
The Newtown Park Community Foundation is initiating a Neighborhood Watch Program and is looking for residents who regularly use the park. We would like to have more ‘eyes and ears’ watching out for any problems in the park. In past few years, Newtown Park has experienced thousands of dollars of vandalism and several incidents where purses were stolen from cars.
We encourage anyone using the park to be alert to potential problems and concerns such as:
- Vandalism
- Misuse of playgrounds
- Misuse and defacement of park equipment
- Alcohol or drug
- Destruction of Natural Resources
- Stray dogs
- Littering or illegal dumping
- After hours violations
- Fighting or harassment
- Suspicious cars
- Persons loitering
If the Newtown Park’s maintenance crew is working, you may ask them to report the incident or you may contact the police directly.
Please carry your cell phone with you or report the incident as soon as you can. Call 911 if it’s an emergency or call 770-495-8738 (Fulton County Police) for non-emergency situations. Here's what you do:
Give your name and the name of the park…Newtown Park. The address of the park is 3150 Old Alabama Road.
Briefly describe the event – what happened, when, where, and who was involved.
Describe the suspect: sex and race, age, height, weight, hair color, clothing, and distinctive characteristics.
Describe the vehicle if one was involved: color, make, model, year, license plate and special features such as stickers, dents, or decals.
